Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first to land on the moon on July 20, 1969. Six hours after landing, Neil Armstrong became the first person to step on the moon. Armstrong is quoted as saying, “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
